Club chairman Harold Needler announces that Brocklebank has resigned, and that he did not feel the club had obtained the success it merited for its size.

Cliff Britton is manager of Hull City

After the departure of Brocklebank, Cliff Britton is announced as new manager of Hull City. The former England international had previously managed at Burnley, Preston and Everton.

Henderson becomes first Football League sub to score

In a spirited win away at high-flying Brighton, Ray Henderson becomes the first substitute in the Football League to score a goal. After coming on in the 36th minute for the injured Ian Butler - Henderson goes on to score the winner for the Tigers shortly after half time, and cementing his name in Football League history. more info
